HEADQUARTERS WINERY & MERCANTILE
HEADQUARTERS is nestled in a 130 year old building located on the Historic Square in Harrisonville, MO. Our hand craft wine is made in house using raw grape concentrate sourced from all over the world. We have over 24 varieties to choose from and are named Back the Blue, Red Truck, Revolution and Freedom just to name a few. At HEADQUARTERS we take pride in honoring those that ensure our very freedom and safety daily. We are a blue family owned operation and have been in business over four years. In addition to the winery we have 30+ vendors featuring hand craft products and
boutique items throughout our 9000 square foot building.
BLUE FAMILY OWNED
Sadly, it took one of our cities worst first responder tragedies in decades to cause our paths to cross. My heart was shattered, along with the city as news released the death of Larry Leggio and John Mesh.
With a group of amazing friends, we launched the Fallen Hereos Motorcycle Ride within 2 weeks of the tragedy and were humbled to have over 1200 people in attendance.
It was here that I first met Dan, a first responder himself. He along with some of his fellow brothers in blue came out in force to show there support.
Ask him how we met and he is more than happy to share the ridiculous clerical error that resulted in us spending more time together... but that's a story he enjoys telling in person.
It was this experience, along with many others, in addition to marrying into this blue family that made it very clear, my passion is to create an environment that celebrates these individuals and those that support them.

MEET OUR VINTINER
For Sonja Griffith, wine is more than just what’s in the glass—it’s about creating moments, memories, and connections. As the owner and vintner of Headquarters Winery & Mercantile, Sonja brings together over 30 years of business ownership with nearly a decade of hands-on winemaking experience.
Her journey into wine began as a curiosity—an eagerness to learn something new and creative. Over the past 8 years, that spark grew into a craft she now calls both an art and a passion. Sonja has immersed herself in every step of the process, from selecting fruit and blending varietals to experimenting with unique flavors that make each bottle distinct.
What sets Sonja apart isn’t just her commitment to quality wines, but her vision of building a gathering place. Nestled inside a 130-year-old historic building on the Harrisonville Square, Headquarters blends the charm of history with the energy of a modern urban winery. Whether you’re enjoying a glass in the tasting room, exploring the cellar speakeasy, or taking a bottle home, Sonja’s goal is the same: to make wine approachable, enjoyable, and a little bit fun.
Today, Headquarters Winery & Mercantile reflects Sonja’s love for both community and craft. Each vintage tells a story—not only of the fruit and the process but also of the people who gather to share it. For Sonja, the real reward is seeing friends, families, and neighbors raise a glass together and feel right at home.
